My Unrhythmic Poetry

Don’t publish my Sinhala poems
They are full of flaws
And meaningless lines
Unlike your rhythmic poetry

Don’t publish my poems
I have no Opera House to visit
And no Pacific Ocean to feed
My unborn metaphors

I have no places to glitter
Captured by Captain Cook
And share with Sinhala readers
To boast and publish as poetry

Don’t publish my Sinhala poems
They are full of flaws
And meaningless lines
Unlike your rhythmic poetry

My poems are like
Expression Of Interests for jobs
That we both have applied
And failed in two cities!

  1. It looks like someone oiled the kavi maeshima today.

    Well done, mate!

  2. Thank you for the kind words and appreciation. Yes, it was this very bright young man and a former Mate! He has never taken even a 101 course in poetry writing or literature but writing reports as poetry (distorting words) in order to have rhymes and meters. He wants every other joker like me to follow his report writing style of poetry writing! It was rejection note and editing he proposes which inspired me to write this bad English poem. Visit this space to read the Sinhala version.
